ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:
HealthRight International (formerly Doctors of the World-USA) is a global health and human rights organization working where health is diminished or endangered by violations of human rights and civil liberties. Reaching out to the most vulnerable and marginalized populations, HealthRight works with local partners to build sustainable access to health care for excluded populations.

OUTLINE OF ROLE:
Reporting directly to the HealthRight Africa Program Director, the Project Director will oversee all project activities in Kenya including monitoring progress in each of five districts; reporting regularly to HQ, donors and Kenya partners; supervising district managers; collaborating with Ministry of Health officials; and representing the malaria project at the national and provincial level.

Position Description:
The Malaria Project Director is based in Kitale and responsible for overseeing the implementation of all malaria project activities in facilities and communities in five districts in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:
• Represent the HealthRight Malaria project to all partners and at national, provincial, and district level meetings.
• Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate project activities to fulfil all grant objectives, providing technical leadership and support to project staff.
• Work with HQ-based project staff to develop and revise the project strategies based on best practices, context, effectiveness and sustainability of impact.
• Maintain compliance with all USAID and HealthRight finance, logistics, procurement, and personnel policies.
• Provide careful financial oversight for the malaria project, ensuring the appropriate and effective use of all project resources.
• Communicate and report frequently and effectively with the Program Manager about project implementation successes and challenges.

Qualifications:
• Post-graduate clinical degree with additional MPH strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working implementing health programs with an international NGO; malaria and community health experience preferred.
• Excellent English writing skills required.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
