Assmang Ltd - Manganese Division has this vacancy at its Black Rock Mining Operation, situated 80km northwest of Kuruman in the Northern Cape:

Planning Manager


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Compiling long-term and short-term mining plans and schedules * Life of Mine planning * Analysing, reconciling, interpreting and acting on results and data of the mining department * Updating working plans in conjunction with survey and other departments
* Designing underground layouts according to accepted rock engineering principles and following rock engineers' recommendations * Month-end procedures, including ore reserves depletion * Mass balance of mining and plant production * Budgeting and scheduling resources for optimal exploitation of the resource to meet the required production profiles * Monitoring unit costs and continuous improvements * Revising vent layouts and inputs into the rescue plans * Performing ad hoc duties as relevant to the position.

Minimum requirements:
* BSc degree/BEng/BTech degree in Mining Engineering * Computer literacy * Proficiency in the use of Data Mine and Mine24D and other related software * Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency
*l Minimum of 5 years' extensive experience in the planning environment.

The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per the Health and Safety Act, 29/1996.
Preference will be given to applicants from previously disadvantaged groups to support the company's employment equity plan.
Appointment: Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.
