Programme Assistant ANPPCAN

The African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN) Uganda Chapter is a national child focused organization working to protect and promote the rights of chil¬dren with particular focus on preventing and redressing violations of children's rights.

ANPPCAN Uganda Chapter seeks to recruit competent dynamic and creative individuals to join her team of passionate child advocacy professionals in the following positions;


Position Description: Programme Assistant
Reports to: Programme Officer, Kasese District Branch
No. of vacancies:

Duty Station: Kasese District

Major Responsibilities
* Participate in implementation of programs for child protection, empowerment, education and HIV/AIDS.
* Participate in operationalizing the approved monitoring and learning systems.
* Support in assessment and coordination of capacity development programs to partners.
* Engage community members to promote child protection, empowerment, education and HIV/AIDS prevention and mitigation in communities.
* Provide support services (medical, psychosocial and other necessary support) to abused children and effectively link them to other services.
* Participate in advocacy work at the district and community level.
* Prepare of periodic narrative reports.
*Document processes, lessons learnt good practices and share them with stakeholders.
* Participate in mobilization of resources for ANPPCAN's programs.

Job requirement

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* A degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies, Community/ Social/ Counseling Psychology, Social Sciences with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar job. Additional skills in Project Planning and Management are an advantage.
* Basic understanding of child rights programming
* Experience in HIV/AIDS, Advocacy, Livelihoods and Education programs for children are an advantage.
* Must be fluent in Lugbara (Arua),Lukonzo and or Rutoro (Kasese)
* Age range of 23 - 35 years. Ladies are particularly encouraged to apply awareness and education on the rights of children at district and community level as well as follow up and provision of services to abused children.
