Corporate Alliances Manager UNICEF

Under the general guidance of the Chief, Corporate and Foundation Partnerships (CFP), responsible for managing, developing, coordinating, negotiating and monitoring key global alliances with the corporate sector. Staff member is also responsible to guide Country Offices and National Committees in the development and implementation of strategies for mobilizing resources from the corporate sector and building successful alliances.

Major duties and responsibilities

- Proactively develop, manage, maximize and monitor existing alliances and signature UNICEF programmes with the corporate sector
- Manage, co-ordinate and supervise the account management team providing functional management of the staff and all relevant budgets.
- Establish clear strategies and work plans for team members within the overall goals and objectives of Central Fundraising and PFP.
- Ensure that the allocation of staff time and expertise is in line with priorities to achieve the desired results for the organisation and maximize the ROI with a focus on raising quality, flexible resources and meeting the needs of corporate supporters.
- Ensure that the team provides technical support and guidance to HQ Divisions, Country Offices and National Committees in developing, negotiating and implementing alliances with the corporate sector in line with UNICEF policy and guidelines in the area.
- Contribute to and coordinate elements necessary for the development and implementation of UNICEF strategy, policy & guidelines for working with the business community
- Conduct training sessions and deliver presentations for HQ divisions, National Committee, Regional & field office staff in the development of alliances with the corporate sector.
- Post is office-based with regular travel for meetings with corporate partners as well as UNICEF National Committees and field offices.
- Manage key corporate partnerships entails making strategic choices and decisions about how to engage with and service key donors to UNICEF.

Experience and skills required

- Advanced university degree in Business Management, Communication, Public Relations; Marketing: or equivalent professional work experience in Fundraising and sponsorships, combined with a university degree in a related field. A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Eight years progressively responsible professional work experience in fundraising, marketing, sponsorship, communications, project management, including work with the corporate sector, with a minimum of three years at the international level.
- Substantial staff management experience required.
- Knowledge of current theories and practices in fundraising, marketing and sponsorship highly desirable.
- Fluency in English required. Another UN language an asset.
