Drug Access Program Coordinator

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) works to broaden access to life-saving therapy for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria patients in the poorest parts of the world. CHAI approaches health access challenges with simultaneous and intensive engagement on both the demand and supply sides of the market. CHAI’s Access Program (AXP) works with governments and companies around the world to fundamentally change the economics of global health. By securing lower prices for key commodities and improving laboratories in the developing world, we are helping patients’ access the treatment and care they need.

Position: We are seeking an Access (AXP) Program Coordinator to provide broad based administrative support to the Executive Vice President (EVP) of Access Programs as well as programmatic and operational support for the Access Program Team. This individual must be highly motivated individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. The AXP Program Coordinator will organize international meetings, handling internal information requests; perform administrative functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, scheduling meetings, arranging travel, preparing internal reports, and managing other internal procedures. The AXP Program Coordinator must have the following personal qualities in order to be successful in the role: resourcefulness, responsibility, tenacity, independence, energy, and work ethic.

Responsibilities: *Programmatic and operational support for the Access Program Team *Organization and maintenance of AXP’s File-sharing website *Assist with invoice tracking, grant reporting, and grant development *Creation and management of the Access Team Calendar *Administrative support for the EVP of Access Programs *Management of the EVP’s Outlook calendar and email *Handling complex travel arrangements with a cost effective approach *Expense tracking and reporting *Planning and attending events. AXP holds several annual conferences and meetings globally to carry out its work. The Access Program Assistant will coordinate all logistical aspects including: *Identifying potential venues for conferences and meetings with government officials, partner organizations, and pharmaceutical suppliers *Setting up and logistics, communicating with the venue and participants to ensure smooth operations *Developing materials for the conference, working with participants to address travel needs, and, along with program staff, negotiating terms with the venue *Manage team’s work flow and streamlining of operational processes *Assisting with the creation, proofreading and editing of PowerPoint presentations *Note taking, tracking follow up activities, ensuring timely execution, etc. *Handling internal and external communications and follow up (e.g., with donors, partners, companies, countries)

Qualifications: *Outstanding academic credentials *Minimum 2-4 years private sector work experience *Experience in international travel arrangements and Outlook calendar management *Event planning experience *Strong communication (written and verbal) skills *Ability to communicate effectively with people of varied professional, cultural, and educational backgrounds *Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives *Ability to be effective in high-pressure situations, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and set priorities *Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, limited-structure, high-pressure, multicultural environment *Detail-oriented with strong organization skills *High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word * Strong work ethic, supported by commitment and follow-through
