GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATOR
UMGENI WATER TRAINING CENTRE AT ULWANDLE REGION
5 YEAR RENEWABLE CONTRACT REF: GDPC/10/11


Applications are invited for the above position in Umgeni Water Corporate Services Division, stationed at Umgeni Water Training Centre at Ulwandle Region. Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the GM: Corporate Services, based at Head Office in Pietermaritzburg, the incumbent will be required to drive a National Treasury initiative of developing young Graduates in Water/Waste Water Treatment and Engineering for five years for the enhancement of skills that are required by Municipalities in KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape for the betterment of service delivery in those municipalities.


Key Responsibilities: • Planning of interventions that will ensure improved learning processes and meeting the competencies required for the programme • Liaising with management, supervisors and mentors to ensure that training is in accordance with programme objectives and relevant bodies e.g. CESA, SAICE, ECSA and other bodies • Enhancing standards and levels of accredited learning • Developing a co-ordinated and integrated training programme/plan • Developing a feedback mechanism for programme evaluation • Financial and Budgetary Control of the programme • Liaison with Department of National Treasury and EWSETA • Provision of reports to relevant stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications: • A Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management with a major inTraining and Development • Minimum 5 years’ training, learning and development experience in an Engineering and/or Water and Waste Water related environment • Qualification as Skills Development Facilitator would be advantageous.

A five (5) year fixed term contract with an option to extend.
