Mozambique Integrated Programs Director

The Integrated Programmes Director (IPD) ensures successful execution of WV Mozambique’s ministry through overseeing the management of all programme implementation. The IPD serves as the direct supervisor for the Provincial Representatives of Gaza, Nampula, Zambezia, and Tete provinces, where WV’s ministry is implemented, and also oversees directly or indirectly the National Advocacy, National Sponsorship, and National Capacity Building functions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the IPD leads on the process to conceive and drive the strategy of WV Mozambique and ensures that the programmes implemented help meet the targets of the national office strategy, with a focus on meeting the Child Well-Being Targets. Also critical to the role is driving the successful integration of programming across sectors and across funding streams.
    • Lead in the development, review and monitoring of strategies and plans for all of World Vision Mozambique’s programming.
    • Lead programmatic excellence throughout the country to guarantee proper programme/project management, coordination, and representation in the national projects, provincial projects, and district- or sub district-level projects.
    • Lead, organize, motivate and develop individuals to perform effectively in a high performance team within Mozambique. This involves building consensus and conflict resolution, staff recruitment, orientation, on-going management support, quarterly coaching, annual performance planning and appraisal. Support the professional and personal development of these staff through on the job coaching, identification of learning and training needs and opportunities.
    • Provide spiritual leadership to staff, facilitating a supportive environment for spiritual formation of staff, the internalization of WV’s Vision, Mission and Core Values, and the full and appropriate expression of World Vision’s Christian identity.
    • Develop and maintain strategic alliances, networks, and partnerships with key internal and external partners and actively pursue contact with government authorities, donors, support offices, civil society, and other stakeholders as a means to strengthen the results of WV programmatic interventions.
    • Lead the embodiment of WV’s core value “we are stewards” throughout WV Mozambique’s programming by ensuring high standards of stewardship and accountability and compliance with WV financial policies and procedures, including participation in and follow up of periodic audits.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

REQUIRED:
    • University degree (MA/MS preferred) in a relevant field – Management /Leadership, International Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a sectoral area such as agriculture, public health, education, law, etc.
    • 10 years practical experience in national program management and leadership – must be an effective and efficient coach of international and national staff
    • Experience working in 2 or more other countries
    • Experience in the relevant development fields – food security, health, HIV/AIDS, sponsorship, WASH, disaster management, child protection, advocacy, and/or education
    • Significant experience in implementation of grant-funded and privately-funded relief and development programming.
