Afghanistan Programme Manager

People in Need is seeking suitable candidates for the position of Programme Manager in Afghanistan

Location: Afghanistan, Mazar- e –Sharif Starting date: during 2012
Duration: 18 months

PIN’s permanent mission in Afghanistan was founded at the end of 2001 to help find solutions to these serious concerns. PIN projects are coordinated through a central office in Kabul, and an office in Mazar-e-Sharif ensure the coordination of programs in the north of Afghanistan. PIN also works in 14 field offices in the provinces of Kunduz, Balkh, Baghlan, Nangahar and Paktia.

Main description of the manager responsibilities:

• Overall project management, including implementation, monitoring and evaluation • New project proposals writing, local fundraising
• Management of the local team ( • Liaisons with partners, donors and local authorities

The suitable candidate should have:

• Experience with project management of large (multi-year) projects • Knowledge of different training methodologies and community development approaches, • Good management, leadership and communication skills, • Excellent English (both written and spoken) • Responsibility and ability to work independently and in a team
