Description
FINCA International, one of the world's leading microfinance institutions, provides financial services to more than 800,000 clients through 21 wholly-owned and operated subsidiaries in Africa, Eurasia, Latin America and the Greater Middle East.

FINCA DRC is looking for a Training Manager (TM) who will work at the country head office to lead the training initiative with the objective of improving operations. The position involves being constantly aware of the needs of the subsidiary branches in order to adapt existing training methodology, curriculum and modules along with building training capacity within the subsidiary. The TM will also assist the country level management team in coordination with subsidiary HR to asses needs, create training plans, and improve the technical skills of employees. The TM will serve as a liaison between training, operations, policy, and HR functions in the subsidiary. It is estimated that travel among subsidiary branches will account for about 15-30% of the TM time.

The purpose of visits to the field offices is to identify the deficiencies related to job knowledge and skills of credit department’s employees and to train them on the ground.

To extend the operation of FINCA DRC, TM must perform professionally the following functions and responsibilities:

  • Analyze the training needs (10%)
  • Design and develop the training programs (40%)
  • Provide the necessary trainings and systematization of the training results (40%)
  • Collaborate with other departments (10%)

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Higher University degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics, Management, or equivalent work experience;
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years microfinance operations experience preferably with international organizations working in developing countries;
  • Practical experience conducting trainings and action based workshop for microfinance staff;
  • Knowledge of training processes and microfinance best practices;
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate staff performances, data and other resources to determine training needs and changes to materials;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within a dynamic environment with a high level of urgency without compromising productivity;
  • bility to build and maintain excellent working relationships both with subsidiary Management and branch management and staff in order to assess training needs and impact, to enhance implementation, and to facilitate feedback;
  • Demonstrated leadership, networking and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to travel within country (up to 50%) and work flexible hours;
  • Fluent in French, English knowledge a plus;
  • Professional computer literacy;
  • Accuracy and ability to pay attention to details;
  • Demonstrate commitment, honesty and transparency;
  • Ability to learn quickly, readiness for self-learning;
  • Initiative, independence and ability to work independently (without consultation with the management);
  • Experience in human resource management, skill in assessing the performance of staff (including previous work experience), recruitment, motivation and training.
