Coffey International Development in cooperation with the Nossal Institute for Global Health and GIZ International Services is managing the AusAID funded Australia Indonesia Partnership for Maternal and Neonatal Health Program which is an initiative to assist the Indonesian government to implement the National Making Pregnancy Safer Strategies in selected provinces and districts and improving public administration in the health sector in NTT. The Program is currently renovating 21 Puskesmas and District Hospitals facilities in NTT in order to support the overall health improvements made by AIPMNH and the NTT Health Department in Maternal and Neonatal Health.

The program is seeking applications for a Construction Monitor for the Partnership. This is the key supervisory and review position for the construction program of the AIPMNH and will – in conjunction with the AIPMNH staff – be responsible for the quality outcomes of the construction program being carried out in 21 rural and district locations in Nusa Tenggara Timur Province. In this role you will work closely with the Puskesmas Construction team at AIPMNH to ensure successful completion of the building and renovation program and ensure that the recommendations made to the program design are carried out in the field. You will be required to make a number of visits to Kupang and the construction locations to monitor construction quality and adherence to both International/Australian as well as Indonesian Building Standards as appropriate and as directed by AusAID for civil works, including environmental, mechanical and electrical standards. Knowledge of earthquake resistant design and construction will be well-regarded.

To be successful for this role, you will be degree qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering and demonstrate substantial experience managing and leading teams in construction or renovation works particularly in rural parts of Indonesia. Communication and interpersonal skills; risk management expertise as well as ability to work with local communities is essential. Critical to this role is working knowledge of CAD and possession of a current membership of a national professional engineering society/institution. Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential and Bahasa Indonesia language skills are necessary.
