ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGERS

Transnet Rail Engineering, an operating division of Transnet SOC Limited, requires the services of the following suitably qualified persons:

ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGERS

Department: Risk and Safety
Centres: Koedoespoort, Salt River, Durban, Germiston, Bloemfontein and Uitenhage

Reporting directly to the Regional Risk Manager, the successful candidates will be responsible for the implementation of business risk, business continuity management and insurance and information management for the regional businesses so as to optimise effectiveness and efficient performance.

Outputs:

  • Be extensively involved on all key operational businesses projects to ensure effective identification and management of all risks as part of the normal project management process
  • Ensure that risk, at every stage of its lifecycle, is appropriately managed, from identification to reporting and monitoring, across all organisational levels
  • Escalate overdue tasks/mitigation plans to the risk owner
  • Provide monthly risk reports to regional Business Managers regarding their risk profile performance
  • Train users, and interact with service providers with regards to system enhancements
  • Implement insurance portfolio across all six insurance classes
  • Review insurance requirements in all geographical locations of the regional network and ensure compliance with local legislation
  • Manage insurance compliance, risk mitigation and claims administration
  • Implement and manage the annual insurance renewal process, including active liability management of all insurance claims on behalf of the regions and/or against regional record keeping, and management relating thereto
  • Liaise with underwriters and other outsourced service providers
  • Implement claims-handling procedures to facilitate recovery from insurers
  • Conduct a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) annually and when significant changes occur
  • Develop and review Business Continuity Plans and ensure maintenance by the allocated businesses and regions
  • Facilitate the testing of BCM plans annually
  • Ensure that Business Continuity Plans are readily accessible during a business interruption and copies are stored off-site
  • Ensure that all employees and key stakeholders are aware of BCM and their specific roles and responsibilities
  • Monitor the compliance of the divisions with the BCM Policy and the related procedures
  • Embed the BCM culture and Transnet BCM Policy within the TRE
  • Monitor the insurance framework, policies, procedures and uniform norms and standards.

Minimum requirements:

  • A degree or National Diploma in Risk Management
  • 5-8 years’ experience in risk management or business-related experience.

Knowledge:

  • Risk management or business management
  • Risk financing and business continuity management knowledge would be advantageous.
