Head of Programme Support - Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

Salary: Circa. £56k

Location: Vauxhall, London

Join WaterAid as Head of Programme Support and you will be key in leading and developing the restructured unit - supporting the successful delivery of programmes internationally in relation to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).

WaterAid is in an exciting new phase of its development with an ambitious five year global strategy and you will play a vital role in helping us to achieve our vision to ensure access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation for all.

As Head of Programme Support Unit you will:

  • Lead and manage the Unit
  • Oversee support to Regional Teams and Country Programmes
  • Manage strategic links with external agencies & identify strategic partners
  • Lead and support monitoring and evaluation processes
  • Promote learning and knowledge management to enhance our effectiveness
  • Support the improvement of staff skills, capacity and knowledge
  • Support external events and relevant publicity
  • Be a member of the Global Leadership Team

As Head of Programme Support unit you will need:

  • A relevant degree and/or advanced degree in development
  • Experience of international development and programme delivery/policy
  • Understanding of monitoring, reporting, evaluation and assessments
  • Experience of working with external organisations and partners
  • Experience of strategic planning, preparation of business plans
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills plus team leadership expertise
  • Good communication, networking, relationship and presentation skills
