Coordinator, Community Engagement


The Community Engagement Coordinator is a member of the Marketing + Branding (M+B) Division and supports division goals, including community stewardship, cultivation and growth, as well as fundraising.
Reporting to the Acting Managing Director of M+B, and working closely with the Editorial Director and the Social Media Coordinator, the Community Engagement Coordinator executes and tracks many of the team’s community engagement efforts.
As a frontline marketer of the brand, the Community Engagement Coordinator must be dedicated to maintaining CI’s high brand standards and ensuring that all touch points with our community are on-message and consistent with CI’s look.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Programming and production for online fundraising:
  • Create and produce emails in Convio. Set up and deploy cultivation and fundraising emails in Convio for membership and Emerald Circle.
  • Set up and manage donation forms within specific campaigns.
  • Create surveys and other tools for the online community in Convio.
Mailings:
  • Coordinate the production of three to five offline member cultivation and appeal mailings, which includes coordinating the preparation tasks associated with the Operations Development team and ensuring all tasks are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work closely with the Emerald Circle program to ensure that the messaging for member-level offline mailings is similar to that of the Emerald Circle Program and appropriate for CI's current campaigns.
  • Produce instructions for all offline mailings and function as the point person between the mailing house and CI for all community mailings.  Approve all proofs from the mailing house and ensure all data for the mailings is accurate.
  • Work closely with vendors and consultants to complete mailings.
  • Monitor expenses and report on profitability of mailings.
Database management and reporting:
  • Maintain the accuracy of all member records in Raiser's Edge and Convio.
  • Produce weekly database queries and reports from Raiser's Edge and Convio to track donations and status of online and offline appeals.
  • Review revenue report and update web statistics report on a weekly basis.
  • Produce other reports or materials as requested by management or other divisions.
The Community Engagement Coordinator also will:
  • Support coordination and collaboration amongst online engagement team by scheduling team meetings, and maintaining team calendar and project management spreadsheets.
  • Support CI’s Development division with online invitations, ticket and donation pages, etc.
  • With direction from the Acting Managing Director, support audience research efforts, including surveys, focus groups, etc.
  • Stay abreast of community engagement and online fundraising innovations, news and trends, and share them with online engagement team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two or more years in online community/member administration
  • Proficient user of the Convio platform or similar software
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research, analytics and report generation expertise
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple, fast-moving projects simultaneously
  • Solid project management skills, deep knowledge of eCRM systems, solid understanding of database marketing techniques, online campaign experience, search campaigns, and direct response programs (mail and phones).
Preferred:
  • Proficient user of Raiser’s Edge CRM
  • Proficient in HTML and CSS
  • Understanding of social networking and social media tools and best practices
  • Passion for environmental and/or human well-being issues
  • Team player
