Digital Content Manager

ONE is a campaign and advocacy organization backed by over three million people from around the world and every walk of life who are committed to the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa. We hold world leaders to account for promises made, and we press them to support policies in development policy and finance, transparency and governance. We also work with leaders in Africa to support greater democracy, accountability and transparency. ONE operates from Berlin, Brussels, Johannesburg, London, Paris and Washington DC.
The Digital Content Manager will be responsible for leading the development and management of content for the ONE.org/international site, working with staff across ONE’s European, Africa, and US offices.  They will manage the content schedule for the International sites and develop digital content working in collaboration with the campaigns, media and policy teams. They will work closely with the Digital Producer to ensure that all relevant content is promoted across social media channels and optimized to ensure SEO effectiveness.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic and enthusiastic team player, skilled in creating and managing online content, together with a track record of working within a communications, advocacy or campaigning environment.
Reports to: Deputy Director, New Media (Europe & Africa)

Principal duties and responsibilities
• Work closely with ONE’s campaigns and policy teams to create compelling action focused digital content
• Copy edit and proofread web content
• Assist in the writing of supporter emails
• Lead on the day to day management of the International ONE blog
• Support ONE teams in London, Paris, Berlin, Brussels and Johannesburg in the creation of content for specific national and regional audiences
• Coordinate translation and localisation requests as required
• Work with the Deputy Director to analyze site usage data, provide reports to other teams and make adjustments to maximize the sites’ potential
• Play a lead role in the roll out of ONE.org’s redesign of the international sites
• Work with in house and external designers to prepare and publish imagery for the site
• Stay abreast of new and emerging online technologies
• Any other duties as appropriate to the role
Skills and competencies required for the role:
• At least 2-3 years experience of managing digital content, particularly in a campaigning context
• Excellent writing and editing skills • Experienced in creating content for an international audience
• Experienced in writing campaign focused emails to supporters
• A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of social media
• Working knowledge of HTML
• Excellent knowledge of web usability and best practice • Excellent knowledge of Content Management Systems
• A global outlook with the ability to work within a global team
• Ability to work in a team-based, collaborative environment
• Ability to produce under pressure and with tight deadlines
• Proficiency in German and French is a plus. • Knowledge of international development issues a plus
