The
focus of the role is to support the Regional Managing Partner (RMP)
with his business and operational management responsibilities, which
account for approximately 50% of his time (the balance being client
work). This will involve taking on a wide variety of work to allow the
RMP to maximise his available time.
The ideal candidate will support the following areas:
1. Business and operational management routines
- Schedule
regional management meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, follow up
on agreed actions and outcomes. He/she ensure meeting attendees are well
prepared for management meetings.
- Support
partner leadership team visits to Asia by planning meeting schedules,
liaising with Marketing and Business Development to ensure that each
visit takes advantage of client networking opportunities.
- Liaise
with partners in network offices; regional business services heads; and
partner leadership team in London, to ensure that issues that require
attention are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Manage
travel itineraries for management business trips and ensures time is
used effectively to meet client and attend to management
responsibilities.
2. Strategic initiatives
- Support global and/or regional stratgic initiatives to create competitive advantage.
- Research, analyze and prepare data required for targeted initiatives. Prepare reports or presentation materials as needed.
- Prepare presentation materials as required using own understanding of the key issues and priorities.
3. General regional management support
- Act
as an interface between the practice group leaders, business services
heads, office managing partners and central management to progress
issues.
- Deliver work effectively; take on a high degree of responsibility and manage a challenging workload.
- Apply
judgement about which issues to raise to partners and which to deal
with using own initiative and resources and understanding of the
priorities.
- Work closely with the RMP’s administration assistant to ensure seamless support for the complete range of responsibilities.
The
successful applicant will need to develop an understanding of the
priorities so as to be in a position to anticipate needs and enable the
RMP to drive forward management agendas whilst continuing to act for
clients.
- The
ideal candidate is a bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of
work experience, including two years supporting senior management in a
role with multiple stake holders.
- He or she has solid experience working in a professional services firm.
- He or she has excellent communication skills and is confident in drafting correspondence with minimal direction.
- The
ideal candidate has experience analyzing data and generating reports
for strategic initiatives using Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
The
ideal candidate demonstrates a high degree of professionalism,
diplomacy, discretion, initiative and independence, whilst understanding
the boundaries of their authority.
He
or she is detail orientated, mature and confident; has excellent
organisational skills; handles multiple and competing priorities in a
calm, and good humoured manner; and builds strong and sustainable
relationships with co-workers across all levels within the firm.
