ResPublica is recruiting a Research Manager to lead various aspects of its research and policy output. The Research Manager will play an instrumental role in the development of policy ideas and fundraising activity.
The Research Manager will hold a particular interest in one or more of ResPublica's three core workstreams, and be responsible for developing and implementing workstream priorities in anticipation of future policy developments. They will project manage the research process during consultation, planning, execution and production phases for outputs including policy 'Green Papers', full length publications and ancillary activities such as events and conferences. This will involve working collaboratively with experts in the field, policy makers, ResPublica research associates, fellows, and events team, and others.

The Research Manager will be instrumental in managing research operations. He/she will have the opportunity to work autonomously and independently but will also be responsible for line-managing junior staff, and will need to work collaboratively with other colleagues, contractors and partners.
The Research Manager oversees and is accountable for progress of specific projects against partnership requirements, budget and timeframes. He/she will promote and fundraise for individual projects and hold responsibility for meeting the financial targets of the organisation in collaboration with other senior staff.
We are open to candidates from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, such as policy, business development, communications, academia and public affairs. This position is full-time or part-time for 3 or 4 days per week.

Candidates must demonstrate experience in efficient project management, innovative insight into policy-making, and excellent communication skills. Whilst this role is not primarily a research role, the Research Manager will be confident in guiding and overseeing the research process. There will also be independent writing and speaking opportunities, and the potential to gain experience in these areas.
