We are seeking a Development & Communications Associate to join our young, hard-working, international non-profit organization that provides relief to survivors of natural disasters. This role will support the overall development operations, working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers to develop, oversee, and maintain projects for donor development and volunteer management, including managing the online giving programs and serving as liaison to All Hands Chapters & volunteer fundraisers. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Development. Travel to post-disaster environments, both domestically and internationally, will be required for up to 50% of the time.
What You’d Be Doing: • Developing and managing systems and processes necessary for the organization, tracking, planning and executing projects from inception to completion. Will establish timelines and appropriate milestones. • Generating and mailing donor reports, as needed • Contributing to discussions of fundraising needs/priorities and in prospect strategy/review sessions by making recommendations to help establish priorities, specifically action items and follow-up tasks. • Becoming familiar with and researching top prospects. Providing research summaries; and producing written reports on proposals and initiatives, as needed • Communicating with representatives from volunteer groups about upcoming events and available online tools, i.e. online registration pages, email invitations, regular event RSVP reports, and event promotion on the All Hands website • Creating event registration pages and emailing invitations through the All Hands website • Ensuring event information is recorded properly and accurately in Convio and on the All Hands website • Creating and maintaining a Chapter Leadership Manual • Reviewing and suggesting revisions to the Chapters & Volunteers section of the All Hands website to better reflect team and organizational goals • Providing technical support for new chapters • Supporting individual Chapters in communications, including sending newsletters to their members and supporters as needed • Managing data for the Chapters & Volunteers team, including updating donor profiles in Convio
What You’ll Need to be Successful: • Bachelor’s Degree • 1-2 years of relevant work experience • Proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English • Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and to take initiative • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail • Based in and legally eligible to work in the United States, without employer sponsorship and a valid passport • Willingness to travel (domestically and internationally) up to 50% of the time • A passion for our mission and a strong desire to impact an up-and-coming non-profit organization • Innovation and Creativity – you are not afraid to try something new and inspire others to do so • High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness • Strong work ethic and require minimal direction • A basic understanding of the Aid world both domestic and international
What Would be Nice: • Experience working with Convio and online content platforms • Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization • Prior experience working/volunteering with the organization (or similar international NGO) preferred • Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently. • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Wordpress.
- This is a telecommuting position, must be based geographically anywhere from New England-Mid Atlantic.
- Salary range, based on experience ($26,000-$32,000/year)
