The Opportunity
The CFO position is both broad and deep, calling for competencies in: corporate finance/investment, financial management, business process/systems improvement, financial reporting, budgeting/planning, internal audit, procurement, and risk. The CFO is a key-contributing member of the c-level leadership team and directly manages a 42-person finance team located in Seattle, and dual functioning field staff, i.e. Country Directors and administrators in more than 20 countries.

The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a transformational leader, who thinks strategically about the international funding landscape, multi donor project strategies, and business process improvement, and who also possesses a mentoring leadership profile and the capacity to act as a hands-on manager when necessary.
Ideally, s/he will have recently led a major business process and systems improvement effort that directly led to major gains in cost efficiency and enhanced data access. Knowledge of the international NGO sector and its dominant funders, especially US government agencies, is desirable. The successful candidate will have the necessary gravitas to collaborate with senior-level stakeholders including the Board of Directors, the senior leadership team, and Program Directors.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of 15 years senior management experience in finance/accounting, compliance auditing, asset management, process/systems improvement implementation, and operational metrics. A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
