Senior Advisor, Ecuador

Norwegian Mission Alliance has delegated to its fully owned subsidiary Alliance Microfinance AS (AMAS) with head office in Oslo, Norway. AMAS' responsibility is to follow up on all its microfinance activities worldwide. The institutions supervised by AMAS are located in Ecuador, Bolivia, Liberia and Vietnam. Banco D-MIRO in Ecuador was during 2011 transformed to become a regulated bank, and is today wholly owned by Mission Alliance and AMAS.

About the Job: 
AMAS is looking for a Senior Advisor to be based in Guayaquil, Ecuador. S/he will be the legal representative for AMAS, part of the bank's board of directors and play a key role in ensuring the efficiency of the bank.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

• Serve on the board of directors;
• Legal representative for Alliance Microfinance Limited in Ecuador;
• Act as an advisor to the CEO to help ensuring high quality financial services to the clientele, and maximize outreach to the target group in a sustainable way;
• Ensure good coordination with the AMAS HQ in Norway;
• Ensure best-practice corporate governance;
• Mobilize funding resources;
• Contribute to the development of the AMAS network.

Qualifications: 

• Advanced degree in Finance, Business and/or Accounting or equivalent experience;
• Broad experience in commercial banking and/or microfinance;
• Exposure and interest in working for poverty alleviation;
• Strong analytical, financial and problem solving skills, including proficiency in financial modelling;
• Excellent entrepreneurial, leadership, relationship, and communication skills;
• International experience in developing countries an asset;
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
