Description:
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Training Assistant in the Global Conservation Agriculture Program. The position will be based at CIMMYT’s Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico). The position will provide temporary (up to six months) cover in the Global Conservation Agriculture Program.

Specific responsibilities of this position will include:
  • Provide general administrative, logistic and organizational support to the Training area, including but not limited to coordination and preparation of various events with agronomists and farmers; management of correspondence; preparation of meetings (and minute taking); preparation of documentation and reports related to the project and others as required.
  • Provide monitoring and support in all routine matters as requested by supervisor and in cases of absence, when required, in order to keep abreast of all commitments and tasks of the area.
  • Program of meeting and travel as required, including all logistical aspects related to travel. 
  • Preparation of reports, letters, powerpoint presentations and other documents as required by supervisor.
  • Assist in all communications with other members of the organization, external stakeholders, follow up to meetings and other key issues related to the area. 
  • Other support tasks as required, including filing, personal matters of supervisor, phone calls, teleconferences, etc. 
  • Perform any other tasks and assignments related to the program/project, as required by supervisor.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes: 
  • BA/BS degree in Administration, Education or related field. 
  • 2-3 years’ progressive experience in a corporate and non-profit environment. 
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ progressive experience in project management and budget management. 
  • Excellent bilingual skills (English/Spanish), including presentation skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced internet skills. 
  • Strong level of cultural sensitivity to understand the needs of all staff and partners. 
  • High level of responsibility, confidentiality and discretion. 
  • Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of diverse work team.
