The Pension Shared Service
Centre provides the people and resources to deliver pensions
administration, communications, technical and operational support to
both the Trustees of the BBC Pension Scheme (the Scheme) and the BBC.
Based in Cardiff, the team strive to deliver high quality services
across defined benefit and defined contribution pension arrangements in
line with agreed service levels and governance policies.

Leading the shared service team
of around 20, you’ll report to the Chief Executive Officer who is
responsible for the strategic management of the Scheme. With
responsibility for the delivery of service, to agreed service standards,
to both the CEO on Scheme matters and the BBC on employer pension
matters, you’ll need to develop, maintain and enhance internal and
external key relationships. Your responsibilities will include pension
administration, communications, technical, technology and operational
support. In addition to resource planning and people development, you
will manage a budget of over £2m.
The salary for this role will be up to circa £70,000 p.a.
You are likely to be an
Associate (or Fellow) of the Pension Management Institute and degree
qualified (or equivalent), with a proven track record and wide
experience in senior pensions operational role across defined benefit
and defined contribution arrangements. Experience of developing service
delivery strategy and policy for large and complex pension arrangements
(defined benefit and defined contribution) and in depth knowledge of UK
pension legislation is also key to your success in this role. You will
be technically strong, with an ability to foster and draw out expertise
as required. You will have the ability to motivate and coach a team to
achieve agreed service standards.
