Lead Economist

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Lead Economist.

The main task of the Lead Economist is to conduct research and analysis of trade related topics of relevance to ITC’s beneficiaries and partners.

The Lead Economist will lead a small team and will manage the production of reports, including an annual ITC flagship report, as well as other publications and related technical and strategic analyses.

We are looking for a candidate who combines a strong academic background in international trade and economic development with effective communication skills, fine people and management skills, as well as good networking skills particularly in relation to ITC’s partner countries, international organizations, academic institutions and within ITC.

ITC assists developing countries and transition economies in identifying and taking advantage of export opportunities – leading to economic growth, job creation and opportunities for entrepreneurs, and related poverty reduction. ITC’s Division of Market Development provides trade related technical assistance particularly in the areas of trade intelligence and sector development.
