Project Coordinator Intern- Washington D.C. (Part-time)
The Project Coordinator Intern will provide support to managers and consultants in MEDA's Washington D.C. office, providing assistance in the areas of technical support, research and writing, business development, and well as administrative support as required. This internship position will be located in Washington D.C.
Activities include the following but are not limited to:
Marketing and Business Development:
  • Assisting management with marketing support and business development opportunities.
  • Provide support in developing promotional/marketing materials including power point presentations to strategic partners and donors, and internal communications.
  • Serve and attend as MEDA representative at industry stakeholder/partner meetings and conferences.
  • Provide support in developing proposals and research for new business opportunities
Research & Analysis:
  • Providing support with research, coordinating, editing and ensuring that donor reports are accurate and delivered on a timely basis.
  • Providing consulting support on projects in the specific areas of focus, technical areas, including Women, Youth, Agriculture, Financial Services, and Business of Health.
Admin:
  • Providing administrative support including; office logistics, supplies, formatting documents, travel logistics support, research, writing, preparation of proposals.
Qualifications
  • University degree, ideally a Business, Finance, International Economic Development or related field.
  • Enrolled or recently graduated from a graduate program, such as Masters of Business Administration, International Economic Development, International Development, or related program
  • Knowledge of international and business development concepts.
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.                                      Independent, self-directed and highly motivated.
  • Appreciation and support of MEDA's faith, values and goals.
Internship Details
A monthly stipend and transportation costs will be paid for this part-time internship. This internship will last for 4 months or until the end of academic semester, starting in September of 2013. The hours for the internship will be decided based on the applicant's schedule, but should be at least 16 hours a
week.
