Purpose
 
ONE DROP is seeking a Director of Operations with an enterprising spirit and prepared to take on challenges in a stimulating and rapidly expanding environment. Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, the Director of Operations is responsible for managing all aspects of the ONE DROP access to water and sanitation programs in developing countries.
 
Main duties and responsibilities:
 
  • Manage all aspects of international WASH programs to ensure both quantitative and qualitative objectives are met;
  • Contribute to the development of new international WASH programs in collaboration with ONE DROP’s team and local partners;
  • Ensure the integration of the three components of the international WASH  programs—i.e. water to live, water to prosper and water to inspire— which are at the core of ONE DROP’s approach to guarantee the sustainability of its work;
  • Manage the monitoring, evaluation and learning process within each international WASH program to ensure key performance indicators are met and the sustainability of ONE DROP’s interventions;
  • Oversee the development and management of the AZULA Fund, which is responsible for the microfinance component at ONE DROP, and participate to its Board of Directors meetings;
  • Manage a team of project managers and interact with specialists in various fields working within the International Programs Department;
  • Work in collaboration with the fundraising and communications/marketing teams;
  • Represent, as needed, the organization within the community of WASH experts.
 
 
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Education
-          Undergraduate university degree in project management, international development or business administration; Master’s degree an asset.
Work experience
-          Minimum ten years’ experience in project management in international cooperation and/or a related field.
Knowledge of languages and technologies
-          Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken;
-          Fluency in Spanish a definite asset;
-          Proficiency using the Windows environment.

Working conditions
-          Availability to travel (about 30% of the time).
