Background / General description:
The CFA Department is composed of over 130 staff and works closely with the Finance and Budget Network of over 50 staff in Headquarters and Regional Offices. The Chief Administrative Officer and Controller, managers and unit heads with an overarching responsibility of supporting IFC's activities by delivering value-added financial and management accounting services through strategic and operational business partnership, actively contributing in decision making, business performance, financial intelligence and resource (re) deployment. 

The Program Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and proactive support to the front office of the CAO and CFA Controller. The Program Assistant, in collaboration with and reporting to the Executive Assistant, will be expected to create a positive and cohesive work environment, and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the office.
Duties and Accountabilities:
• Work with a high level of discretion in providing wide-ranging assistance in setting and managing priorities and the work flow of the department.

• Assist the Senior Manager of Facilities and Administration and the Head of Finance Business Partnership.

• Support the Executive Assistant to ensure management requirements deadlines for the department are met. 

• Organize and/or coordinate major events (conferences, workshops, retreats, etc).

• Serves as Lars coordinator for the department.
Selection Criteria:
Education: High school diploma (but an undergraduate degree is strongly preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;

• Ability to quickly understand the Unit's business (including work program objectives, related support services, client relationships, databases, etc.) and continuously relate these to the level and quality of support requirements needed;

• Seasoned knowledge of the full range of IFC’s administrative and operational tasks and related systems, work routines, processes and procedures; 

• Excellent administrative, office support and organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize and deliver assignments with little supervision and in a timely manner; 

• Knowledge for all IFC Group administrative and operating procedures, and ability to apply these to the activities of the Unit (preferable);

• A self-starter, who can work independently seeking guidance when needed, with flexibility of working hours depending on business needs and ability to adjust to an evolving scope of responsibilities;
