To lead the SAP development team and to help drive the strategy and improve the outcomes of the use of SAP technology within the firm.
- Provides line management and direction for all members of the SAP development team.
- Inputs to, and helps drive, the direction and strategy of all SAP technologies across the firm.
- Sets local or team-based standards for tools and techniques, advises on their application and ensures compliance.
- Takes technical responsibility for all stages in the development process. Prepares project plans and advises systems development teams. Assigns work packages to technical staff, monitors performance and reports progress. Provides advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.
- Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure effectiveness of stakeholder management. Helps develop and enhance customer and stakeholder relationships. Implements a communications strategy, including, for example; handling of problems and issues; managing resolutions; corrective actions and lessons learned; collection and dissemination of relevant information appropriately.
- Acts as the routine contact point between the firm and SAP technology suppliers. Collects and reports on supplier performance data.
- Responsible for the commercial and delivery aspects of work packages outsourced to the firm’s SAP Development partners.
Essential Skills (General)
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write concise, accurate and readable technical documentation and reports.
- Good problem management skills – with an eye for detail, a measured approach and determination to see a problem through to solution.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of SAP technology in order to provide expert advice.
Essential Technical Skills
- A good high level understanding of the SAP portfolio within the Enterprise Core Component (ECC 6.0). Ability to confidently articulate functionality at both stakeholder and team level;
- A good understanding of SAP Enterprise Portal (EP6.0);
- Good working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and core functionality;
- A good understanding of SAP FI (Finance) including General Ledger accounting document posting, clearing, tax accounting and reporting;
- A good understanding of SAP AP (Accounts Payable) and CO (Controlling);
- A good understanding of Materials Management;
- A good understanding of SAP BPC;
- Experience of HCM (EhP4.0 or later) modules including PA, OM, LSO, PD, ESS, MSS;
- Able to demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and ability;
- A good understanding of SAP Process Integration 7.0 or later.
Desirable Technical Skills
- Professional qualifications, training or other relevant accreditations in area of expertise
- An additional foreign language, preferably German.
Experience
- Successful track record of working in an SAP software development environment
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and ability;
Desirable Qualifications
- ITIL Service Management Foundation certification (or equivalent)
