A full-time position is available for an enthusiastic and adaptable team member with a strong chemical background. Job duties involve the evaluation of chemical and crystallographic information, from published papers and from research scientists worldwide, for input to the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) – the world’s repository of small-molecule crystal structures. Applicants should hold a good degree or equivalent qualification in chemistry and have good IT skills. Job-specific training will be given.

Applicants must be self-motivated, able to work independently and have excellent communication skills. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Experience or knowledge of any of the following areas would be an advantage: inorganic or organometallic chemistry, crystallography, chemical databases. The Database Group is supported by a dedicated software development team and so formal programming skills will not be necessary; however, familiarity with basic script programming would be beneficial.
The CCDC is an independent organisation that compiles the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) and develops software applications in structural chemistry and molecular modelling.
