Senior Quality Manager Latin America

Function Description

The Senior Project Quality Manager will have full QA/QC responsibility for the project scope of a marine project in Latin America which consists of dredging, reclamation, quay wall, pavement buildings and utilities. This position will report to the Project Director. Initially, during the preparation stage, the Senior Quality Manager will be based in Gouda, the Netherlands (6 months) before relocating to the project site in Latin America.

As Senior Project Quality Manager you are responsible for setting up, implementing and maintaining the Project Quality Plan in accordance with the BAM Management System and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy. 
 
Your main tasks and accountabilities are:
  • Implementing and managing application of the Quality Management System for the project
  • Tracking and control of all project documents and records including control of nonconformities and their closeout
  • Scheduling and conducting appropriate QA/QC Audits across the whole project to assess content, compliance and effectiveness of quality programs including KPI’s and Non-conformances and coordinating with other parties involved in quality programs
  • Preparing and issuing the audit report, including identification of any corrective actions; evaluating recommended corrective actions to ensure adequacy and to avoid excessive or unnecessary impacts
  • Preparing periodic reports for approval by the Project Director relative to the effectiveness of audited quality programs and advising of any problems requiring special attention
  • Managing two QA/QC Managers
  • Providing on-the-job training for Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control Engineers
  • Conducting periodic quality meetings to monitor progress and status of quality assurance activities

Job Requirements

Your profile

As Senior Project Quality Manager you have the following qualifications and competencies:
  • Degree at BSc level in Civil Engineering or related subject
  • At least 10 years QA/QC experience with an international contractor ideally within a multidisciplinary environment; experience within a consultant is advantageous
  • At least 4 years as QA/QC lead on sizable projects (greater than 100 million $)
  • Experience in setting up a quality system from scratch and writing quality plans
  • Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Result driven and excellent in planning & organising
  • Team builder, strong in training and educating others
  • International experience particularly in Latin America is desirable
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both spoken and written
