The University of Hull’s Occupational Health department is looking to recruit 2 x Nurses on 1 year fixed term contracts to assist with their provision of services to staff and students. Primarily you will support the delivery of the student provision within the team which will include student health assessments prior to and during their training, advising customers of outcomes, undertaking phlebotomy, interpreting and advising on pathology results, administering vaccinations and providing advice on immunization, liaising with GP’s and medical professionals, using and maintaining electronic databases, and producing health reports. You may be required at times to be involved in delivering staff Occupational Health services and in addition, will support the delivery of routine administrative tasks as required by the department. The department operates routinely between 8.30am to 5-00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.00pm Friday.

These are nursing posts and will require first level registration on part one of the NMC register. You will be required to maintain registration with the NMC and demonstrate appropriate level of continuing professional education to meet the current requirements identified in PREPP. Previous experience of Occupational Health work would be helpful however training will be given. Equally, transferable skills for example gained from general practice nursing, would also be helpful.
