The University of Hull has been awarded a grant by National Institute for Health Research to develop a prototype nasogastric tube which utilises amperometric detection to indicate its position within the human body. The multi-disciplinary research team led by Prof John Greenman (Director of the Clinical Biosciences Institute), Dr Jay Wadhawan (Chemistry) and Barbara Elliott (Nursing) is seeking to appoint a research associate to work on this project for a fixed term of 3 years.
The successful applicant will have a degree in Chemistry or related subject and PhD in physical, biophysical or analytical chemistry or equivalent experience. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team is essential and experience in product development including an understanding of quality management systems would be beneficial.
