Project Management Consultant Washington, DC
6-month contract position, 50% LoE
Background:
Internews® Network is an international media development organization based in Arcata, CA and Washington, DC whose mission is to empower local media worldwide to give people the news and information they need, the ability to connect, and the means to make their voices heard.
General Function:
Under the supervision of the CFO, the Project Management Consultant performs high level tasks and manages various projects. This is a 6 month consultant position with an anticipated 50% (20 hours/week) level of effort.
SCOPE of WORK:
* Support organizational development by translating corporate goals related to specific projects into concrete processes, phases, and timelines
* Develop strategies for internal communications regarding the roll-out of new tools and resources
* Work with implementation teams on new initiatives
* Carry out research as assigned and in support of ongoing projects and new initiatives
* Assist in programmatic development and project support for future programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Strong project management skills and experience
* 3+ years programmatic experience or relevant advanced degree
* Excellent communication skills
* Proficient in MS Office
* Experience managing projects of various types and sizes
* Ability to prioritize and handle multiple on-going assignments
* Relevant university degree required
* PMI certification a plus
* Experience with implementation of software programs a plus
