Associate Director (AD)

Organization: The MicroDreams Foundation is a charitable microfinance acceleration fund designed to help new and emerging microfinance and micro-enterprise development organizations launch and scale their organizations to the point of commercial viability. MicroDreams has been the driving force behind the development of the SPBD Microfinance Network in the South Pacific (Samoa, Tonga and Fiji) and has helped to scale young emerging partner MFI’s in Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru. MicroDreams provides loans, loan guarantees and technical assistance to partner microfinance institutions to help them achieve their goals of providing meaningful economic opportunity to the poorest members of society.

As part of our succession planning, we are looking for a new: Associate Director (AD)

The Opportunity: The AD is the day-to-day leader of MicroDreams and reports directly to the Managing Director and the Board of Directors.

Main Duties:
• Lead the refinement and implementation of our Strategic Plan
• Develop and execute effective promotional activities
• Spearhead successful fund raising campaigns
• Maintain existing MFI partnerships and build new partnerships with impactful organizations
• Develop appropriate reports (budgets, projections, operational plans, financial statements)
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and contractual obligations
• Build a motivated team to expand our impact
• Communicate effectively with key stakeholders (Board, Donors, Partners, etc)

Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
• Experience working in the microfinance industry. Knowledge of best practices in the industry
• Demonstrated ability to raise funds. Extensive grant proposal writing experience
• Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
• Strong interpersonal, management and leadership skills
• Sound understanding of financial management and accounting principles
• Demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams and to achieve goals through teamwork
• Degree preferably in business administration, international relations or development
• Excellent computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Spanish language skills are an asset, but not required

Remuneration: Base salary, incentive pay and benefits are provided and are commensurate with experience.
