We are looking for a talented individual to lead the implementation of Alert’s engagement in Kyrgyzstan, developing in further detail the next stages of Alert’s peacebuilding strategy in the country and ensuring the necessary systems are in place for high quality output and compliance. A key part of the job is to develop a reputation for quality strategic, peacebuilding work and to grow the programme to a steady expenditure of approximately £1,000,000 a year. Additionally, the job holder will be required to support the team in Tajikistan and may take the lead on some regional peacebuilding projects.
You will have a talent for managing a mixed and challenging portfolio of projects whilst being entrepreneurial in developing new ideas and concepts. This reflects the developmental nature of the role in a region where there is scope for Alert to build on what is currently a start-up phase of activity. The start-up nature of the work means this post holder will be talented in setting up management systems and building up a team of well-motivated staff. They will also be able to quickly gain and maintain the trust and respect of both senior political figures and local organisations.
Closing date: Tuesday 11th October 2011 at 5pm UK time. Interviews will take place during the week commencing 31st October 2011.
