Director, EU Public Affairs Ogilvy

Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, a leading global communications firm, is seeking a Director to further develop the agency’s EU public affairs offer in Brussels.

Qualifications

Candidates will have significant professional experience working in a commercial environment (e.g., consulting or PR/PA agency) as well as past experience working in, or with, a European government or European Institution or international institution. Expertise in the areas of sustainability, the environment or healthcare are preferred, but not required.

Role

The Director of EU Public Affairs significantly contributes to the firm’s overall performance and revenues, identifies and develops new business opportunities and serves as a valued leader and resource for clients and account teams. Directors exemplify and manage achievement of the firm’s vision, values and management philosophies. At the country level, Directors are among the top managers along with the MD.

Public affairs comprises work for corporate and non-profit clients on programmes that involve affecting policy or regulatory change at European, Member State or international level. This requires a working knowledge of the European Institutions, as well as main international policy-making bodies. Additionally, public affairs includes reputation management and crisis/issues management when it involves potential regulatory or political stakeholders.

The Director of EU Public Affairs reports to the Managing Director of Ogilvy PR Brussels and oversees a team of public affairs professionals, as well as senior consultants on contract to the firm. Additionally, the Director is expected to work collaboratively with the other business unit directors and the other Ogilvy Group disciplines – advertising, direct marketing and digital – to build and serve business.
