DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Community Living Belleville and Area exists to provide quality supports to people with intellectual disabilities and to facilitate their full inclusion in community life. Community Living Belleville and Area is also mandated to educate the larger community and to advocate, wherever necessary, on behalf of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
Situated one and a half hours east of Toronto on the beautiful Bay of Quinte, the incumbent will have the opportunity to combine a career and lifestyle of their choice. We currently employ over 225 people in 19 locations in the Belleville area.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Human Resources will assume overall leadership for all HR functions of the agency, including: HR planning, recruitment and selection, employee support, performance management and labour relations, compensation and employee benefit administration, the HR Information System, health, safety and wellness, and overall employee development. The incumbent will be an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to planning and decision-making on a full range of issues affecting the operation of the agency.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
  • several years of progressively responsible HR management experience with a generalist focus, including experience in a unionized setting;
  • demonstrated experience working with WSIB and back to work accommodation;
  • post-secondary education in Human Resource Management with a CHRP designation;
  • in-depth understanding regarding the field of developmental services;
  • excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills;
  • excellent judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential information in a diplomatic, professional and tactful manner;
  • demonstrated skills in mediation, negotiations, coaching and facilitation;
  • a flexible, creative and open-minded approach to problem solving;
  • highly developed organizational and prioritization skills and
  • strong computer skills with experience in all Microsoft Office applications as well as HR Information systems.
