Financial Analyst works closely with Finance Manager to ensure internal structures and systems are consistent with JHU systems and donor cost share reporting requirements. This position works closely with the staff of Jhpiego’s Programs, Contracts, Global Human Resources Office, Finance Team, and country offices to establish, develop, and strengthen uniform practices and procedures to capture, track, and report on cost share requirements to internal and external clients. |
| Responsibilities: |
- Establish, develop, and strengthen uniform policies and procedures to capture, track, and report on cost share to internal and external clients
- Keep abreast of laws and regulations that apply to their field of professional expertise to maintain up-to-date compliance
- Interpret financial transactions and events for non-financial staff
- Assist program staff in determining the allowability of cost share to a particular award
- Monitor actual cost share against required amounts; advise management of anticipated shortfalls/surpluses
- Follow-up with staff submitting cost share reports to donors to ensure timely submission of reports in compliance with terms and conditions of the grant/contract
- Assist in the preparation of detailed project budgets as needed
- Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphic packages to assemble, manipulate, and format data and/or reports
- Work closely with the Financial Administrator responsible for your assigned cost share accounts to ensure timely capturing and reporting of amounts in the various financial systems and the timely and accurate submission of reports to sponsors
- With assistance, provide guidance regarding the interpretation of applicable contract, grant and cooperative agreement terms and conditions, as well as other administrative rules, cost principles under OMB (including A-21, A-133, A-110), 22CFR226, 22CFR228, and FAR
- Recommend improvements to global financial policies and procedures
- QuickBooks processing team member, including the review of reports and fund balances for 22 Remote Imprest funds in order to prepare timely reimbursement of country office expenses, obtaining appropriate signatures on documents and the submission of all documentation and files for processing through the JHU accounting system
- Maintain files of transactions processed with sufficient documentation for audit purposes
- Monitor expenses purchased on JHU Procurement Cards to ensure timely approval
- Monitor Chase Credit Card Receipts for website donations, sales, and other income
- Process invoices in the Privatin Procure-It Purchasing system
- Provide finance support for the Facilities division, including processing of invoices, researching payments and contacting vendors to resolve issues

| Required Qualifications: |
| Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience3+ years financial or cost management experience, preferably in support of international development program operationsOne year of experience with international, non-profit organizations (larger than $10M), as well as a multi-office, multi-national environmentOne year of experience working with public and/or private donorsOne year of experience with financial analysis, financial reporting, cash flow analysis, budget development, and forecastingBasic understanding of service center, fringe, and indirect rate application and allocation methodologiesBasic knowledge of US government cost principles, GAAP accounting rules, and grant/contract managementWorking knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing required. Packages include: Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel, and Word plus university-specific accounting and reporting packagesExperience in global organizationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to effectively manage several major activities simultaneously |
