International Medical Corps is recruiting for Emergency Physiotherapist/Trainer to be based in Misrata-Libya.

Length of contract: 6 months

Job summary There are many war wounded persons in Libya and this number may well increase in the following months. It is also expected that there will be a large number of mine injuries as well as possibly unexploded ordinance injuries. Rehabilitation facilities have been neglected for many years and the training/expertise level in modern techniques is low. The main aim of this post is to train Libyan medical staff and disabled/injured people to prevent long term disabilities and enable people to go home after surgery as soon as possible with a rehabilitation plan.

Essential skills and requirements: • Degree in Physiotherapy and 3-4 experience • Experience an wide knowledge in acute pain management • Experience of rotation/neurology/amputees • Experience in bio psycho social approach to treatment • Experience in surgical ward fracture management • Experience of training, both design and implementation of training programmes • Skills in prevention disability • Experience of P+) including the appropriate usage of adaptive aids • NGO experience and experience of emergency/Humanitarian work • Experience of ECHO and EC funded programmes • Ability to think creatively , problem solve and to self direct • Excellent networking, liaison, team work skills and ability to under difficult circumstances • Excellent writing and presentation skills • Language Arabic and English preferable
