INTERPOL is the world’s largest international police organization, with 188 member countries. Created in 1923, it facilitates cross-border police co-operation, and supports and assists all organizations, authorities, and services whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime. INTERPOL is now looking for a qualified candidate to join the Capacity Building and Training Directorate (CBT) which is part of the INTERPOL Global Complex Shadow (IGCS) as Planning and Policy Analyst for the INTERPOL-FIFA Anti-Corruption Initiative (Training).

The incumbent shall work under the supervision of the Assistant Director Sports Anti-Corruption Training (CBT), and also function in close relationship with the services of the Directorate of Administration, the Executive Director of Police Services and the Information Systems Directorate. He/ she shall contribute to and assist in the development, planning, implementation and coordination of the assigned Sports/Football Anti-Corruption training Initiative, including programs externally funded from partnerships, and training materials in the frame of the approved resources.

Under the direct supervision of his/her supervisory-management team, the incumbent is to perform his/her duties in compliance with the administrative rules of the Organization and the administrative rules agreed with the funder(s) (if any) as well as procedures established by CBT in the performance of his/her duties.

The incumbent shall deal with the administrative and operational matters related to training in close collaboration with the CBT Directorate. He/she has therefore the autonomy in designing training curriculum and programs upon request. Final approval for implementation shall be made by Director CBT through Assistant Director, Sports/Football Anti-corruption Training.

Primary Duties

1- To provide administrative and operational support within the framework of the approved budget for the establishment and roll out of the Sports/football Anti-corruption Training programs;

2- To coordinate, develop and organize the curriculum for the assigned Sports/Football Anti-corruption training programs and prepare the validation processes accordingly;

3- To support the fundraising strategy of the Organization in co-operation with our strategic partner to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the Sports/Football Anti-corruption training Initiatives;

4- To monitor, conceptualize, plan and coordinate the training activities of the assigned Sports/Football Anti-corruption training Initiatives in alignment with the global strategy of the Organization and operational strategy of the Capacity Building and Training Directorate;

5- To track and recommend opportunities for the infusion of relevant subject matter within the framework of the Sports/Football Anti-corruption Initiatives; and

6- To perform any other related duties required by his supervisor and aimed at supporting the Sports/Football Anti-corruption Initiative.

Post Requirements

All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements and should indicate how they meet them.

Education/Training

  • University Bachelor or Master degree and/or proved extensive professional experience in the field of anti-corruption.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in anti-corruption area.

Languages

  • Professional Fluency in English

Computer Knowledge

  • Accurate knowledge in the use of Microsoft office tools
  • Demonstrated experience as well as excellent command in presentation and preparation of executive and business plan documents

Technical Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing plans for group or project;
  • Proven professional experience in performing and managing complex project and plans, by taking corrective action to meet the organization’s strategic plans;
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying misalignments and gaps, and targeting actions to current organizational strategies;
  • Proven professional experience in co-coordinating and facilitating training sessions;
  • Proven professional experience in drafting administrative and training texts, reports and studies;
  • Demonstrated experience in anticipating emerging organizational needs and establishing short to medium term priorities;
  • Accurate experience in building networks and sustainable relationships and partnerships;
  • Personal and professional maturity in the areas of reliability, decisiveness and emotional well-being.

In addition to the requirements, the following Assets and Special Aptitudes would be beneficial.

Assets

  • Good knowledge of INTERPOL
  • Working knowledge in a second Interpol language (French, Arabic or Spanish)
  • Working knowledge of any other additional language.

Working Conditions

  • Remuneration for appointment on contract: The starting salary for Grade 5 is EUR 3,344 per month (salary scale applicable for 2011) for a step 1

  • The incumbent will also be required to work occasional overtime based upon workload. He/she may be required to work nights, weekends and public holidays in the case of significant problems.

* The Organization plans to establish a Global Complex in Singapore at the end of 2013. This position has been identified as one of those which will be transferred to Singapore. Thus, an acceptance of the post implies acceptance of a forthcoming transfer to Singapore.

1 This position is externally funded. Thus, the contract may be terminated at any moment prior to its expiry date, should this financing be cancelled or reduced so that INTERPOL is no longer able to fund the position. The effective duration of externally funded posts may be shorter than the duration indicated in the vacancy notice depending on the starting date of the future incumbent and the planned end date of the project.
