Senior Director-Corporate Finance

Job Description:

Position Summary: Direct and oversee the financial and business management functions of FHI Development 360 Accounting and Billing areas in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued.
Essential Job Functions: -Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
-Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, etc.
-Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.
-Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for the Senior Vice President of Finance
-Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
-Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary
-Assure that assets are not awkwardly encumbered with personal guarantees or unrealistic commitments
-Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Finance in the development and economic evaluation of various fringe benefit programs for staff and program components
-Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies
-Provide a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance and Accounting to all departments, creating a well-respected and sought after department goal (not sure that goal fits)
-Report to Senior Vice President of Finance when necessary in writing and verbally to provide formal reporting disclosures and notifications
-Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP as required to complete monthly, quarterly, and year end closing
-Direct financial audit and provide recommendations for procedural improvements
-Provide leadership and direction as it relates to the integration of FHI 360 and FHI Development 360 LLC
-Other duties as necessary

Education: Masters in one of the following or related fields: Accounting or Business Administration or Finance required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience: 11 year(s) of relevant experience required

Specific Knowledge Requirements:
-MS/MA/MBA and 11 years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-CPA license is preferred.
-Required experience with OMB circular A133 audit requirements and OMB circular A-122, Cost Principles for non-profits.
-Experienced leader and financial executive with solid experience in government accounting, preferably with experience in an international environment.
-Knowledge of Federal accounting and procurement regulations and procedures.

-Decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective and well versed in numerous operations and financial management systems.
-Ability to travel internationally and communicate constructively in multiple geographic and cultural settings.
Additional Information:

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Accounting and Billing areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Working Conditions including Travel and Overtime:
Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and may involve domestic and international travel.
