Democracy Reporting International (DRI) supports Egyptian civil society organisations (CSOs) in their response to the country’s transition to democracy and provides the Egyptian public with analysis on the political reforms. The programme is financed by the European Union. For more information:

Duties
The Team Leader/Country Director will manage DRI’s office and programme in Egypt. In particular, he/she will be responsible for the following:
- The detailed planning and implementation of all activities of the project in conjunction with the project director at DRI HQ and regular reporting to DRI HQ on project implementation;
- Recruiting and management of up to 10 staff in DRI’s office in Cairo;
- Communication and coordination between DRI and key interlocutors, such as CSO representatives, political party representatives, representatives of movements, thegovernment, experts, as well as key figures of the Egyptian transition;
- Regular communication with and reporting to the EU;
- Representing DRI in Egypt;
- Travel within Egypt as needed;
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field;
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience, ideally in the field of project management and administration working with an international organisation, NGO and/or donor agency;
- Relevant experience in the area of democratisation, such as election support, constitutional reforms or NGO development and outreach work;
- Excellent spoken and written English is essential, together with demonstrable English report writing skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, managerial and communication skills, and a strong administrative track record, including proven leadership, staff and financial management;
- Major assets would include fluent written and spoken Arabic and work experience in Egypt.
