| Position Description | The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Japanese film, new media, and visual culture, expected to begin on July 1, 2012. The teaching duties will include four courses a year at the undergraduate and graduate levels. |
| Basic Qualifications | The ability to teach undergraduate courses in Japanese and East Asian film is expected but scholars with research interests in multiple areas (such as literature, subculture, modern/contemporary thought) are welcome to apply. A strong doctoral record is required. |

| Special Instructions | Candidates should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement, a research statement, a 25-page writing sample, and the names and contact information of three references.
