Associate Director, Marketing and Communications (Europe/Central Asia)

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a professional to fill the role of Associate ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS (EUROPE/CENTRAL ASIA). Responsible for directing the communications and marketing activities in the ECA region and and the Area Office. Areas of responsibility include overseeing a media relations functions in the area office, providing capacity-building support and direction to National Organizations, promoting ECA programs in the US and other funding countries, and building and protecting brand awareness in Europe for the work of HFH worldwide. This position will be based in Bratislava, Slovakia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Marketing and Communications

• Develop and manage regional communications and marketing strategy with a focus on European Campaign countries • Oversee, support and build national organization efforts and capacities to build the Habitat brand and spread awareness about Habitat’s worldwide ministry throughout Europe & Central Asia. • Develop and manage area-wide activities and initiatives (through media, events, and other outlets) to build HFH’s name awareness, brand and reputation in the ECA area, with a focus in Western Europe • Support Area Office program, advocacy and strategic partnership initiatives through the creation of high quality, branded materials with a consistent and clear message • Work collaboratively with the global HFHI communications team (HQ and other area offices) on brand awareness and marketing initiatives • Establish systems for communication with all prospective and existing donors; • Help develop new on- and offline fundraising support packages and materials; • Ensure there is appropriate and timely reporting to all donors and sponsors; • Support quality content (photo’s, stories, articles) management process from the field to the Area Office and HQ

Direct Marketing and Donor Support

• Maintain close relationships with US and GFN RD&C staff in HFHI, National Offices and affiliates in order to expand relationships to Europe and Central Asia and maximize giving. • Attend relevant events to promote donor partnerships and decide on strategies to approach and visit Embassies, consulates, diaspora organizations and donor groups especially in US and other GFN countries • Prepare, with relevant RD staff fundraising proposals to generate new partnerships and major gifts; • Oversee the cultivation of donors and manage cultivation events (e.g. Major Donor GV teams), managing more complex events where necessary and appropriate in cooperation with the GV manager; • Assist in recruitment, placement, training and mentoring of NO staff responsible for RD&C activities; • Support development of training materials, training sessions/ workshops and provide support and training to ensure better fundraising, marketing, and compliance with donor relationship management; • Support the increased visibility of ECA focus programs and engage new tithe partners • Support the RD&C capacity of the global village program (team FR, social media, individual campaigning, using teams to generate publicity and create content materials)

Tithing Enhancement and International Major Donors

• Increase tithes, major gifts and longer term relationship development with (mainly) US and Canadian donors in cooperation with HFHI fundraisers based in the US and Canada • Oversee donor care management for focus programs where partners are executing and thus where HFHI ECA is directly responsible for FR • Develop major donor relations and family foundations, esp. for US/Canada contacts • Support the increase in tithing from affiliates in Western Europe and focus ECA programs

Capacity Building Support

• Develop and maintain RD&C development tools and materials for national organization communications. – • Support the creation and review of fundraising and marketing strategies and annual operation plans for focus programs and provide feedback on the appropriateness of fundraising targets and forecasts • Analyse and support the creation of marketing plans and analysis of it (goals, ROI, content, etc)

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:

• At least 5 years related professional communications experience, preferably in a public relations or journalism setting; Experience working for international non-governmental organisation preferred • BA preferably in a marketing, communications or journalism-related field; Master’s degree desired. • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills • Excellent knowledge of communications best practices, as it relates to INGO's and other international organizations Understanding of and experience working with media in Western Europe. • Coaching, consultancy, and advisory skills • High proficiency in English required and fluency in additional European languages preferred • Understanding and experience in Europe/Central Asia region and cultural environment • Ability to facilitate and implement specific marketing strategies and coordinate regional strategies.
• Able to lead by influence rather than only by direct line management and strong negotiation skills • Strong organizational and servant leadership skills. • Willingness to lead and affirm the Christian mission and principles of HFHI
