GBP 24,245 - 30,853 (net = take-home pay. Oxfam will meet any tax and social security liabilities of the post holder in addition to the net salary)
Fixed-term, Accompanied Position, 2 year contract

The devastating floods that hit Pakistan during the last monsoon rains impacted to such a degree that some form of assistance will be required for several years to come. There is a great determination to achieve the Humanitarian Response and Preparedness objectives as outlined in Oxfam GB's National Change Strategy (2009-2014) and the Pakistan Country teams aspiration to mount, with it's Partners, timely, efficient, effective, quality, accountable humanitarian response(s) to CAT-2 level disaster(s). Your role will be critical to making this happen.

The role
In this role you’ll be working as a strategic guide, coach, leader, manager and capacity builder, primarily for the Pakistan Humanitarian Response and Preparedness team and more broadly for the wider Oxfam GB Support and Pillar/Programme teams. As a member of the Country Management Team you’ll be involved in developing and implementing the country humanitarian programme based on the Country National Change Strategy, Regional Strategy and Global Strategy.

You’ll be expected to represent Oxfam corporately and manage and influence significant external relationships. There will be a focus on security, as well as advocacy, accountability, governance and, of course, gender equity. Whilst at every level you’ll strive to ensure that programme quality is maintained and integrated to deliver our ‘one programme’ approach. In this senior leadership position you’ll have a range of senior managerial responsibilities including people, budget security project management.

What we’re looking for
With extensive experience in the humanitarian/development sector, you have proven yourself already in a senior leadership role. Your knowledge of development and emergency issues runs deep and is balanced with the ability to analyse and communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences. You’re able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines and your people skills inspire and encourage others to achieve. Whatsmore you’re able to get things done with tact and diplomacy and sensitivity. Fluent in English, you’re able to travel extensively, especially to remote areas.
