OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a key member of the senior management team, the deputy director finance will report to the VPP director and assume a strategic role in the financial management and reporting for the project. This position will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, financial management, forecasting, strategic planning, deal analysis and client contract compliance, and partner contracting.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior managers to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Provide senior management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting.
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance & accounting functions.
  • Direct the invoicing, reconciliation and cash management activities of the project.
  • Ensure customers receive timely account status reports and final invoices.
  • Provide continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
  • Implement risk management procedures and policies.
  • Oversee ERP, MIS and online systems to ensure operations support and provide financial information to clients.
  • Manage client and partner contracting/subcontracting.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in procurement and distribution of pharmaceuticals and health commodities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
