Economic and Policy Advisor, International Agri-food Sector

Job description and responsibilities
Working for an international association well established in the agri-food sector and based in Brussels, under the supervision and coordination of the General Manager, the Economic Advisor will:
- Conduct analysis of some agricultural product markets and related EU trade policies;
- Monitor the development of EU regulatory and policy developments of these products;
- Develop and supports positions and works in relation with the General Manager and Members of the Association;
- Represent the interest of the association towards the EU institutions;
- Liaiss with members, preparing and developing working papers for meetings.
Areas of expertise
- Agricultural markets and Common Agricultural Policy;
- Renewable energy policy;
- Management of statistics database;
- European and international trade negotiations.
Minimum profile required
- Excellent university degree in (agricultural) economics or political science;
- 3 or 5 years work experience in Brussels, in a similar position within a company or an association;
- Excellent capability to analyse and summarize regulatory and economic issues;
- Fluent written/spoken English, excellent in at least two other European languages;
- Team oriented, independent, flexible and very well-organised;
- Good relational skills and sense of diplomacy;
- Computer skills;
- Residency in Belgium.
