Programme Officer Location: Lucknow, India

WaterAid India invites applications from experienced and qualified professionals for the position of Programme Officers for its offices in Lucknow.

The post holder is responsible to develop and manage the delivery of WAI programme in the state, promote and develop partnerships in the state, ensuring high quality sustainable work - safe water, sanitation and hygiene rights - efficiently, economically and effectively and in a manner consistent with WaterAid’s strategy, values and approach.

The Programme Officer is responsible for monitoring of programme and budget of WaterAid's work in the state. Will support advocacy and networking in the state/region and be constantly updated on the sector developments. Regularly engage with partners, sector players, local governments and other institutions and support their capacity building. The post holder reports to the Regional Manager and is part of WaterAid India Regional team.

Essential requirements for the post are Professional qualification or Masters degree in social sciences, Rural/Urban development, economics, Water/Health management, environment, social policy, engineering with five years experience, impressive experience in coordinating, dialoguing with state, working with local NGO partners, independently planning and implementing, and demonstrable analytical skills. Desirable qualifications are experience of working INGOs, and donor reporting.

This post is offered on a four-year fixed-term contract normally renewable at the end of contract; however it can also be renewed as we transit into an Indian entity.
