Senior programme funding officer, Africa

The Senior programme funding officer is required to work with country programme teams and other colleagues in Christian Aid in developing programmes, leading on raising and managing restricted institutional income and promoting positive engagement with donors to achieve transformational growth by increased impact, scale and leverage. This position additionally has management responsibility for at least two Programme funding officers that are based in London.

Whilst working from our London office, you will be required to support Christian Aid’s work across the African division. This entails leading fundraising (including proposal development), supporting contract management for ongoing grants and effectively coordinating with other teams within Christian Aid in addition to maintaining good relationships with external actors, including donors and other NGOs.

It is essential that you are fluent in written and spoken English and can demonstrate success at securing funds from donors. Fluency in French will be an added advantage. We also expect you to be skilled in preparing narrative and financial reports. You should have some management experience in addition to representation skills. On top of your excellent communication and presentation skills, you will be highly numerate and have a real analytical ability.
