Senior Vice-President, Geographic Programs CIDA

CIDA leads the Government of Canada’s international efforts to help people living in poverty. It is a recognized leader in results-based management of development assistance and has comprehensively restructured, focussed and streamlined all of its programs and operations with a singular focus on aid effectiveness.

CIDA’s Senior Vice-President, Geographic Programs leads some 800 Canada-based and locally-engaged staff working in over 30 countries and is accountable for an annual budget of about $1.5 billion.

CIDA invites highly-seasoned development leaders to apply for this position. You have: a passion for achieving concrete results; extensive experience in the field and at headquarters leading development professionals, directly advising and working with Ministerial-level heads of organizations; deep knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing developing country partners in least-developed, low income, middle-income and fragile and conflict affected countries, as well as deep and practical knowledge of best practices among leading national, multilateral and non-governmental development organizations; extensive understanding of Canada’s national interests and of the Government of Canada’s priorities.

Preference will be given to Canadian citizens but the position is open to others should no qualified Canadian be identified. Ability to work and manage in both French and English is required and as well as eligibility for a Secret level clearance.
