Training & Development Supervisor

This position will be site based with training responsibilities at an existing operation.

The incumbent will be HANDS – ON with all aspects of training of a workforce largely new to AMS.

In addition to the hands on training, the position’s function is to assist the Training Superintendent to build upon the site based experience, to be the catalyst for the development to internationally recognised standards of the national workforce with the objective to develop the requisite supervisory skills and experience to enable progression to more senior roles within the region.

The position will assist in building upon existing programs and putting in place a leading edge, safety based training & development function designed to meet the Group objectives and to ensure a consistent approach across of Group activities.

The successful candidate will have:

· Experience in all facets of training in an open pit mining environment, minimum of 5 years

· Superior communication skills

· Good command of the English language, written & oral

· Heavy equipment operations background (Caterpillar and Leibherr)

· Ability to act as a mentor at various levels

· Organisational skills

· Computer literacy of a high level

· An appreciation of the Mines Safety & Inspection Regulations as they might apply in Australia and be relevant to Africa

· Certificate IV in Training and Assessing. Relevant tertiary qualifications, will be highly regarded

The position will be based in Ghana with the requirement to travel to other operations and is offered on a single status roster of 11 weeks in country followed by 3 weeks R&R to point of hire.
