VP, Global Business Development

Establish and grow business relationships with key business leaders and HR executives in multinational corporations (MNC) and large national companies (LNC) across multiple global regions. Leverage relationships to gain a thorough understanding of the key global human capital challenges facing MNCs and LNCs. Identify SHRM products and services that aid business leaders in addressing their organization’s challenges with an emphasis on SHRM education, training and certification programs. Develop winning proposals that will meet the challenges of corporations and grow SHRM’s global business in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. Work closely with SHRM’s Leadership team to evaluate current global business strategy and continuously update for potential growth. This position works from a home based office anywhere in the US.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create global business development plan.
  • Collaborate with SHRM’s leadership team to validate/refine SHRM’s global business.
  • Establish and grow business relationships with key business leaders and HR executives in MNCs/LNCs across multiple global regions.
  • Gain thorough understanding of SHRM’s organization and offerings.
  • Work with Marketing to create business development collateral targeted to global clients.
  • Work through approach to bundling/pricing SHRM offerings for MNCs and hold introductory meetings with at least six potential MNC/LNCs and/or business partners.
  • During 2012 , drive at least $1M in incremental new global revenue through a combination of new client engagements with MNCs and global partnerships with training firms, colleges and universities and local HR Associations. Growth should occur in at least 2 global regions.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
  • Bachelors Degree with 10 or more years experience in business development or account management across multiple global markets with a focus on multinational corporations and large national companies. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to serve as a credible representative of SHRM to the business community throughout the world. Strong executive presence, ability to cultivate relationships with senior executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to close viable business deals and grow a global business for SHRM’s HR products and services.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to create and deliver presentations and proposals targeted to senior business leaders and HR executives.
  • Thorough understanding of cultural nuances and business customs / practices in global markets.
